Pageant fans would know by now that BPCI (Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc.), the franchise holder of Miss Universe here in the country, asks Colombian designer Alfredo Barraza to create our representatives’ evening gown. BPCI and Barraza’s ties may be strong, but don’t you think that it’ll be better if a Filipino shoe biz designs what the Filipina wears?

this pink for the evening gown, really is barraza’s shoe biz creation… para namang gawa sa china na RTW… it’s high for the filipino designer be the creator of the philippines candidate for the miss universe… why is it so ordinary? it is because it lacks authenticity… nobody could make a dress with pride and nationalism other than the people who feels it. this is a philippine national costume, not a colombian national outfit. therefore it should be done by a filipino not a colombian…
